Shelby Jenkins, LPC - Candidate

Hello. I’m Shelby Jenkins, a U.S. Army veteran and a therapist specializing in trauma-informed care for children, adolescents, and adults. I am passionate about helping clients feel safe, supported, and empowered as they work through life’s challenges and move toward healing. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, heard, and understood, and I strive to create a space that feels warm, steady, and nonjudgmental.

Much of my experience has focused on supporting individuals impacted by complex trauma, childhood abuse, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I understand that trauma affects not only thoughts and emotions, but also the body’s response to stress and survival. For that reason, I integrate evidence-based approaches with a strong understanding of the mind-body connection, helping clients develop practical coping skills while also addressing the deeper emotional impacts of trauma.

My work is grounded in a client-centered, collaborative approach that emphasizes safety, trust, and empowerment. I will meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels manageable, while supporting you in building resilience, strengthening emotional regulation, and reconnecting with your sense of self. Whether you are processing painful past experiences or navigating present-day overwhelm, you do not have to do it alone. I am here to support you every step of the way.
