Damilola “Lola” Akintola, MA, LADC/MH, ADSAC Assessor
Hello. I’m Lola Akintola, a Licensed Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Counselor (LADC-MH), EMDR-trained clinician, and founder of Maple Life Solutions, collaborating with At Ease Counseling. I hold a Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) and serve as a certified ADSAC assessor. I am passionate about supporting adults as they work through addiction, trauma, anxiety, and life’s complex challenges. I believe therapy works best when you feel truly seen, heard, and understood, and I strive to create a warm, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive space where all aspects of your identity are welcomed.
Much of my practice focuses on supporting adults, including high-functioning individuals who appear to have it all together on the outside while quietly feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted inside. I understand how easily shame and fear of judgment can make reaching out feel daunting when dealing with trauma, burnout, or patterns involving alcohol or other substances. For that reason, I integrate evidence-based approaches like EMDR, CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing to address root causes while helping you build practical tools for emotional regulation and lasting recovery.
My work is grounded in a client-centered, collaborative approach that emphasizes trust, safety, and empowerment. I will meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels manageable, while supporting you in breaking cycles that no longer serve you and regaining a clear sense of direction. Whether you are processing painful past experiences or navigating present-day overwhelm, you do not have to do it alone. I am here to support you every step of the way.
